Point of Interest

Point of Interest was a research of how the technology has changed the way how we understand and use books. For ages we have always wanted to storage the information in to a smaller container: from rolls to books and through book printing to microfilm scanners and eventually to e-readers. Through the development of pressing all the information in to a smaller space and eventually taking it into the digital environment, we have lost parts of the reading experience that we at first glance didn’t think are important.

My focus problem was the lack of visual reminder in tasks such as bookmarking, highlighting and making a note. Because of it, finding a point of interest from digital book has become hard. As a result I made fast prototypes to test how could we change the user interface to make the usability of e-readers better.
